OMapl138_AM1808_Baseboard PMDC Connector

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138, AM1808, TPS65070

Hi,

Access the schematic of OMapl138_AM1808_Baseboard,   I found out  PMDC_I2C_SDA  and PMDC_I2C_SCL pins,   These pins were connected to  SOM M1 board,   via I2C bus to require some data from INA219AIDCNR,   But this I2c bus is not connected to Omapl138 I2C controler,   So how do Omapl138 access this i2C bus?

Thanks

  • This I2C bus going to a daughter card which was developed for the sole purpose of monitoring the power consumption of the L138 board.  This daughter card was developed for internal use only.  It might be possible to short the PMDC I2C bus to the I2C bus on the L138, but there is no SW available for communicating with the INA's.

  • hi,

Thanks for your reply;     The tps65070 has lilon battary managment,  But There is not battary in my systerm;  And I want DCDC1/DCDC2/DCDC3 to be started up when AC or USB pin powered up;    So ,how should I do the power up sequence ,and how to solve the pins   BAT/ISET/TS ,    the POWER_ON pin should be tied high, PB_IN pin should be tied HIGH,   Is that right?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Ben,

Logic PD recently released their free Wattson software for the AM1808 EVM which will help you see actual voltage, current, and power consumption across all power rails on the CPU and SOM design.  The software visually shows you which power rails are consuming the power and when they are switching on and off in your application.

There is an adapter required to connect to the PC available from this website: http://createnewstuff.webs.com/breakoutboardwattson.htm

The Logic PD software is available from here: http://www.logicpd.com/wattson
