LP-AM263: AM263x Sitara Thermal Manager

Part Number: LP-AM263

Hi TI team!

According to (6.2.2.3 Thermal Manager) I setup 4 temperature sensors, and trying to read it on run time, it is provide me next results:

TSENSE0_RESULT 80   -> 38 deegres Celsium

TSENSE1_RESULT 80   -> 38 deegres Celsium

TSENSE2_RESULT 80   -> 38 deegres Celsium

TSENSE3_RESULT 47   -> 104 deegres Celsium

1. Where this sensors placed ?
2. Why does TSENSE3 give me so a high temperature?

  • Hello Oleg,

    TSENSE3 is a PTAT sensor as opposed to the CTAT sensors of TSENSE[0:2]. This means that the ADC code in TSENSE3 will increase with temperature, hence the value that you are seeing (47) and why the conversion does not appropriately work. The PTAT sensor is meant for internal use only and as a result, we do not have an equivalent conversion table in the TRM as the ADC Values Versus Temperatures table from Chapter 6.2.2.3. For the most accurate junction temperature readings, TSENSE0 and TSENSE1 should be used. TSENSE2 and TSENSE3 were mainly used for experimentation and calibration.

    Regards,

    Erik
