AM69A: Part number and Nomenclature Description for AM69x and AM69A

Our customer checked the part numbers listed under "Ordering & quality" on each product page for AM69x and AM69Ax.

There are no Non-Secure products (Security field is "G"), only Secure products (Security field is "H").

Will only HS-FS products be released and not GP products for AM69x and AM69Ax?

There are no Base products (Features field is "G"), only Products with additional features (Features field is "M" or "N") for AM69Ax.

I cannot find information for additional features in the datasheet.

Could you tell me about the additional features (Features field is not "G")?

    Hello Daisuke-san:

    • Yes, only HS-FS products will be released for AM69A. But our latest boot image and firmware is more advanced on these devices. After boot, it can operate as GP device (only difference is some firewall changes on security M4 core, which should not impact if you don't use it), until keys are blown. This innovation provides better flexibility to customer without needing a different part.
      • We are in the process of enabling same for other devices, and as of this writing we are most of the way there.
    • This will be in the next datasheet update, but at this time, all information is captured in AM69Ax, so the meaning of G/M/N in features field is reserved for now.

    Our customer needs AM69x and AM69Ax samples for their prototype boards.

    The part numbers currently available as "Active" are listed below.

    Can these prototype products be evaluated for all features except those described as unavailable in the datasheet or errata?

    Hi Daisuke-san:

    Yes XAM69 is superset pre-production device that has all features except AI and ISP accelerators, and other unavailable in datasheet/errata.

    XAM69A is superset pre-production device that has all features including AI and ISP accelerators, but not other unavailable in datasheet/errata.

    Does HS-FS products can operate as GP device mean that it can use the same software (build options, configurations, SYSFW, etc.) as GP device?

    For AM62x also only HS-FS has been released and will require to use different software (build options, configurations, SYSFW, etc.) than GP device.

    What is different from the current AM62x case?

    Hi Maeda-san:

    From technical point, the HS-FS works same way as AM62x case. There is a different SYSFW, build option, configuration between GP and HS-FS.

    AM62 did have a GP version released before, so you may have experienced both GP and HS-FS software and those differences.

    For AM68/69, only HS-FS software was ever released, so you would not have seen GP version, thus never have access to the differences.
