AM625: WIFI module verified with SK-AM62B

The SK-AM62B board use a M2 connector on board, no like before, soldered a wifi device on board.

Customer would like to know what WIFI module was validated with SK-AM62B? Of it is a standard WIFI module connection? any WIFI module with m2 connector should work if there driver support?

Hi Tony,

yes that should work with SK-AM62B in the context of SDK v9.0. Note that there's a small issue that needs to be fixed via device tree regarding how that connector is getting powered. Hi Tony,

I've heard from our WiFi team they have worked/tested using the new CC3301 M.2 module, see https://www.ti.com/tool/M2-CC3301

It currently is only available on request, and needs some patches on the SDK that are provided upon request to get going. if you are interested in this you should engage with that team directly.

Then, I see internally our Sitara team has used a WiLink8-based module from Phytec called WL18MODGI, but this does not seem to be publicly available when Googling for it.

But all this should tell you the M.2 interface is working.

If you need higher throughput than the 50Mbit/s the CC3301 can offer you could also look at other vendors such as Intel for SDIO-based WiFi M.2 modules.
