TDA4VM: Is it possible to upgrade libc to 2.34 in rootfs of Linux SDK?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi, TI Expert

We are using Linux SDK 8.6, and the version of libc6 is 2.30
libc 2.30 is not compatible with our application. Our application depens on libc 2.34.

My question is:
1.Is it possible to upgrade libc to 2.34?
2. Will upgrading libc affect the stability of the SDK?
We are concerned about the stability after the upgrade, as almost all software packages depend on libc.

Thank you!

  • Hello Tiancheng Zhang,

The libc version in Linux SDK 8.6 is based on the Yocto (Dunfell) default config used to build the filesystem.

We have not tried updating the default libc version and hence we cannot comment on the impact of this change.

    Thanks.
