AM6442: DDR configuration Linux

Dear TI,

Could you let me know if there are any implications of using DDR4 on AM64x processor with less size like (1GB etc). As well as what is the minimum DDR required for Linux to run smoothly without impacting the performance of A53 cores

Hello Aniruddh,

"Minimum DDR" depends heavily on how you build your Linux kernel, how many kernel drivers you include, what applications are running, etc.

I am sending your thread to our DDR HW owner to comment first on your question about implications of using DDR4 with smaller DDR sizes.

The only implication is what capacity is needed for software as Nick points out. The hardware will support smaller densities
