Hi, TI expert
We used GPIO+UDMA to capture timestamp data (GTC), referring to the following demo;
TDa4vm also supports PDMA. Can we use GPIO+PDMA to capture timestamp data?

Hi,
PDMA is typically associated with a module, like SPI. When we use DMA mode in SPI, it uses PDMA. PDMA cannot be used like UDMA, ie independently.
So for which PDMA instance do you want to capture timestamp?

Hi, Brijesh
We are evaluating a new platform (ven) that only has PDMA and no UDMA, so we want to use GPIO+PDMA to capture timestamp data.
Is there any other plan?
Hi Vinter,
Do you mean TDA4VEN? I think it has UDMA. Can you point me to location, where it mentioned it does not have UDMA?

Hi, Brijesh
The TRM document in my hand did not mention UDMA Controller, only UDMA-P, so I think it does not have UDMA;
So what I confirmed was wrong, right? Tda4ven has udma, right?
Also, I would like to know if we can use it like on the tda4vm platform?
Hi Vinter,
The device specs is not yet available, so cannot discuss this in the public forum. If you have further question, please contact TI local support team.
