DRA821U: Example drivers

adding some more info, I definitely have a tool chain problem.

As instructed for Windows I replaced the TI armclang directory with ti-cgt-armllvm_2.1.3.LTS

I can't seem to get Concerto working. 

I have installed MinGW

I'm thinking I need to build all of the examples first using Concerto on the command line, is that right? There seems to be some recent churn on the SDK/PDK maybe some of the instructions haven't gotten updated yet. I'm following the instructions from

I don't see a concise list of tools anywhere, maybe I'm missing it. I don't understand the relationship between TI armclang and the gcc tool chains.

Sorry for all of the updates. But I have gotten command line build to work with gmake.  So now if anyone can help me to get any of these R5F driver examples to work in CCS it would be a huge help to me. Thanks

What boot mode do you plan to use?

After following the CCS setup steps found here, you may refer to the PDK for further information about the device drivers. You can find the driver applications to run on the R5F as well as instructions to make these libraries and applications, for example, SPI. Be sure to use gmake in the build steps if you are on a Windows machine. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Thank you Neehar,  But I have gone through all of those steps. I can build on the command line using gmake. The EVM is all set up and I can connect to the R5 cores. How do I import the driver examples into CCS. Do I need to identify all the required files and create my own project in CCS? Have you tried this? Are you able to import an example into CCS?

Hi Jeff,

After connecting to a target core, you will want to select the driver example you want to load by going to Run > Load > Load Program. Here, you can load any of the applications that are found at ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j7200-evm-09_00_01_01/pdk_j7200_09_00_01_03/packages/ti/binary by loading the .xer5f file. For example, if you want to run a driver example like SPI, you may want to try this one: 

ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j7200-evm-09_00_01_01/pdk_j7200_09_00_01_03/packages/ti/binary/MCSPI_Baremetal_Slave_Dma_TestApp/bin/j7200_evm/MCSPI_Baremetal_Slave_Dma_TestApp_mcu2_1_release.xer5f

OK progress. I have no .xef5f files. Did you build on Window or Linux?

Hi Jeff,

The example applications are supposed to show in this directory. There is a couple things you can try:

• Can you run ./sdk_builder/scripts/setup_psdk_rtos.sh in the sdk folder ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j7200-evm-09_00_01_01
• Can you run gmake allclean in [PDK_INSTALL_DIR]/packages/ti/build and rebuild all PDK applications and libraries on a specific core or all the cores

I have run allclean several times and rebuilt. 

I ran the other command too

Yes, I do not believe it is possible to build on Windows. I have switched to Ubuntu. But there are problems building there too. see this thread

Currently neither issue is resolved. Both of these methods are documented but neither works for me.
