DM368 UART output

Hi all,

I am using DM368 Processor for video streaming process, i am facing the following problems which are listed below:

1. In UART mode, i am getting the following output in my hyper terminal instead of the 'BOOTME' which usually comes as output from the DAVINCI when configured in UART mode

2. Is NAND IC MT29F8G08ABABA compatible with DM368 ?

It will be really very helpful if someone can help in this.

Hi varun kurup,

check baud rate, it must be set to 115200.

I have set the baud rate to 115200 only and also have verified in all other baud rates available .

did u check the appropriate switch to be set for UART mode.

Hi Prabhakar,

All the necessary things have been done , the BTSEL[2:0] pins are configured in UART mode only.

Anyone has faced similar problem of getting junk or gibberish characters on the hyper terminal which has been posted by me earlier ??

I would like to first establish that there aren't any issues with the uart port. When in SD boot mode, do you see kernel console logs from the UART?

Are you using an custom board or the DM368 EVM? If, custom4784.uart.zip board and if you have CCS and an emulator I would recommend validing the UART using the attached CCS project.

I have got same issues. But in my case, I have already seen debug text from UART1 during our camera's booting. I just try to use CCS and EVMDM368 / EVMDM365 appro test uart to test again. And I didn't success. The test program was always stop in the loop that waiting for RX ready and return -1.

I check it by plugin JTAG, Serial Cable to debug board and connect to debug UART port on our board. I wonder that I may be wrong something?

I can be sure again that our UART1 has run correctly because we now can burn Kernel, cramfs by tftp at Uboot interface.

Please give me a hint to explane for this problem.
