TDA4AL-Q1: DDRSS Configure Tools miss Write Latency (nWR) parameter

Part Number: TDA4AL-Q1

Hi, TI Expert

We are try to use "DDRSS Configure Tools" to create new DDR (Samsung K4UCE3Q4AB) setting.

Samsung K4UCE3Q4AB : 64Gb, 128Mb x32DQ x8banks x2channels

Base on FS1/FS2 2133MHz, Samsung recommend use  Set A / WL=18 / nWR = 44, table as below.

But our DDRSS Configure Tools only max support nWR = 40.

Follow Application Note description.

My questions is :

1. Should we keep nWR = 40?

2. Does any way to change nWR = 44?

Many Thanks

Gibbs

  • Hi,

nWR has different values depending on whether the memory is x16 or x8 mode.

For x16 mode, 40 is the max nWR. For x8 mode, 44 is the max nWR.

TDA4AL does not support x8 mode LPDDR4 memories.

You should confirm with the memory vendor whether the memory part selected is x16 or x8. If the part is x16, then the datasheet may be shared with a device that is x8, and you may need to reference  a different table. If the part is x8, then a different part needs to be selected.
