The current Linux SDK for AM437x is v8.2 available at https://www.ti.com/tool/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X, which was the final release of the SDK v8.x series for this particular device, and with this has not received any further updates since then. The next SDK release for AM437x will be a v9.x release planned for the end of October. This updated release should not require any manual fixes to get the build working. We usually don't update SDK releases just because some upstream dependencies break, which (unfortunately) happens rather frequently, however most such issues are not too difficult to fix.

The main two Yocto repositories TI maintains are called meta-ti and meta-arago, and those accept contributions via mailing lists. All other Yocto layers have a similar community-based contribution mechanism. As anything open-source, contributions & involvement are highly encouraged and appreciated.

Patches are best send through the git built-in email feature, this makes sure that a properly-formatted text-only patch is being sent.
