TMDSIDK572: IDK Board Cannot Boot at 5V 4A Power Supply

Part Number: TMDSIDK572

TMDSIDK5729
S/N: 17204P470138

  • IDK Board not powering up and/or booting when 5V 4A supply is used even without SD Card used.
  • Voltage at TP1 is observed to very slowly climb up to 5V.
  • When TP1 @5V and SW3 is toggled, LEDs will just quickly turn on and the voltage will drop to ~3.8V then shuts off.
  • Booting from Linux SD Card is also not powering up.

Hi,

The issue described above happens on our newly acquired IDK. We tried to power it up based on the user's guide and specs. Power supply used is a TTi EX4210R @ 5V 4A setting.

  • What could be the issue of this product?
  • Do we need to do other configuration not included in the documentation?
  • Is there a way this could be repaired?
