DOMX

Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of any documents regarding the allocation of memory to the HDVICPs via the Media Controller using DOMX? I did a Google search of ti.com and only found 29 web pages, none of them very useful! It is important to us to understand this mechanism to ensure we have a stable system.

As the response has not been terrific, could anyone say whether the new EZSDK will have docs on DOMX or not? Just having this knowledge would allow me to streamline my evaluation.

Ralph,

DOMX just translates the OMX APIs to media controller from A8. So it is kind of messaging system, built on MSGQ module. It does not allocate memory for HDVICP / VPSS.

BTW, new release of ezsdk is avilable now.

No, V4L2 can only work for Capture / Display, for Encode / decode still DOMX will be required.

This thread has been quiet for a while, but, I too would be interested in some documentation, or at least a diagram describing how the DOMX bits fit together. I'm taking a wild guess that internally to TI, such diagrams must exist, otherwise, TI would never be able to hire new staff to work on this stuff.

Is it possible to share? Even if it's a picture of a whiteboard.
