AM62A7: Issues related to EE online debugging in DCC

Hi Peng,

Threshold(L) and Threshold(H) are parameters on the GUI for designing the EE LUTs.
The actual EE LUTs are free for you to design (in much more complex ways), and tuning tool offers a few parameters for the LUTs as it is plotted in the thresholds picture.

You may refer to the TRM for all EE details.

Yes, that plot is an illustration of the enhancer LUT, i.e., roughly from HPF output to the enhancement.

The TRM mentions that LUT has 4K positions, but in the figure there are only 512.

The maximum gain value in EE can reach 4095, but in reality, only 256 takes effect. If it exceeds 256, it will automatically change to 0 (after exiting the page and entering again).Why is this?

Is there any emphasis on the effectiveness of EE（Edge Enhacer） and ES（Edge Sharpner）?

Are you using tuning tool V3.1?
I seem to recall a similar issue has been fixed already.

Anyway, 256 is practically large enough for sharpening.

In general, I recommend using ES as it is simpler to use, easier to tune, and it has halo reduction.

I am using tuning tool 3.0.

In DCC, the histogram of EE has a negative ordinate, while ES does not. Can I assume that the ES histogram is centrosymmetric and only needs to be adjusted on one side？
