TDA4VH-Q1: Processing capacity of VPAC3

Hi, TI experts,

In TI's document, it mentions that the VPAC3 in TDA4VH has a processing capacity of 720 MP/s.

But in our test using multi_cam_app running with 4 x 3C10 (2M) cams, the VISS utilization is 45.74% (250MP/s). With this data, we can calculate when the utilization is up to 100%, the processing rate is only 547 MP/s, which is far below than 720MP/s.

Could you please help me check the cause of such a big difference, thank you very much.

What's the exact resolution of the input image? Can you please share the details?

Also please note it says 250MP at 45%, so we should get around 560MP. it is slightly low, but it depends on ther system load also.

Hi Brijesh,

The resolution of input image is 1920x1080, and we use multi_cam_app to run 4 cameras.

Thanks Jianxiong.

Multi-camera application requires to restore the register context on almost every frame. This adds to the total overhead and so can reduce isp utilization.
