SK-AM62: erase eMMC partitions & reset boot environment

Part Number: SK-AM62

Hello,

I have an SK-AM62 EVM that I had flashed Android onto the eMMC on the eval kit. Now I want to boot regular processor SDK linux (8.6) from the SD card, but the uEnv.txt file is loading environment data from the eMMC which causes the device to boot Android from the eMMC.

Is there an easy way to erase the eMMC from u-boot?

I did try the SDK 9.0 image and it doesn't seem to have this problem. But I also ran into some other issues which may be related to things not being updated yet for the new SDK so I was hoping to run the out of box SDK 8.6 image.

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Regards,

Munan

  • Hi Munan,

Couple of things before I assign your query to our expert:

Did you change the bootmode switches for SD card,  Also, can you try to run the below commands in u-boot prompt and see if you are able to boot the Linux SDK instead of Android:

env default -f -a; saveenv; boot

    Best Regards,
    Suren

  • Hi Suren,

I did confirm my boot switch settings and forcing the default environment did cause the AM62-SK to boot into Linux again, and it is persistent across reboot.

    So thanks for the suggestions!
