AM62A7: Failed to switch the SD card boot mode to EMMC boot mode

I refer to the EMMC startup process of the am62x chip and find that it does not work

According to the EMMC startup process of the am62x chip, after the execution is complete, switch to EMMC startup mode, and an error is reported in the startup log:

    The boot part has been put into EMMC via the dd command.

    But in the root part, I executed these instructions and found that it could not be started, prompting that the SD card could not be found. I switched to EMMC boot mode, and I don't understand why the error of the SD card is reported.

    It is good to know u-boot boots now from eMMC boot partion on your setup.
    root_fs (including kernel/dtb...) is from MMC by default in SDK.
    I'm attaching a sample log where I boot u-boot from MMC, then switch to loading kernel/dtb/root_fs... from eMMC UDA partition

    I find a related thread for this issue, I have try on our EVM use SDK9.0, it can't work too(can run U-BOOT, but Linux can't). I think customer need refer to below steps to rebuild uboot.

  • Your above log pointed there's an issue for u-boot to get access to eMMC UDA root_fs.
    In the log in my previous reply, there're example u-boot cmd (line#41 to line#100) to test u-boot access to MMC, and eMMC UDA partition.

    I'd recommend to run the same/similar u-boot cmds to check u-boot access to eMMC UDA partition on your setup...

    It looks to me there's an issue in eMMC partition (mmc dev 0) as noted in my early reply

    Your above log pointed there's an issue for u-boot to get access to eMMC UDA root_fs.
    In the log in my previous reply, there're example u-boot cmd (line#41 to line#100) to test u-boot access to MMC, and eMMC UDA partition.

    I'd recommend looking into eMMC UDA partition first, for example
    software-dl.ti.com/.../UG-Memory.html
    Once eMMC UDA is partitioned with GPT tool, there're multiple options to flash root_fs to eMMC UDA
    - flash eMMC from USB-DFU
    e2e.ti.com/.../faq-sk-am62-how-to-flash-emmc-using-usb-dfu-on-am62x-sk-e2
    - flash eMMC from SD boot
    dev.ti.com/.../node
