TMS320VC33: CodeComposer V3.1 assistance needed

Part Number: TMS320VC33
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODECOMPOSER

Am trying to program subject part utilizing CodeComposer V3.1, my research has shown that is the only CC that will identify my IC. When I try and load my *.out file it stops about midway through without any faults. I have other *.out files that load just fine. What could be causing my issue? Is there a way to troubleshoot a *.out file? This is very old software I am dealing with. Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Tracey,

Please note that this part has no design support, as per the product page:
    https://www.ti.com/product/TMS320VC33

That means that the part is old enough that our applications team no longer has hardware or software expertise on the part (or even EVMs to test the part), so we will not be able to provide much assistance.

The description of CCS on the product page "Software development" section makes it sound like CCS v4 might be the latest version of CCS to support this part?

I am sending your thread over to the CCS team to see if they can comment.

    Regards,

    Nick

That last version of Code Composer to support C3x is CCv4.1x.

Unfortunately you are using very old and unsupported versions of the tools. There is not much assistance we can provide for them.

The only suggestion I have is you can try CCv4.1x and see if that helps. Start a private E2E conversation with me if you are interested.

    Thanks
