C5515 does I2s clock need to run continuosly

In other words can the i2s clock be gated or run in burst mode.

In my application the C5515 is configured as the i2s slave. I'm interested in only toggling the i2s clocks, frame sync, and data lines when the master needs to send data.

I would like to only send i2s clocks when I'm sending i2s data frames, and there will be no clocks between frames.

We are trying to reduce the amount of noise generated by this i2s clock.

Please see the attached figure that is derived from figure 1-10 of the i2s user guide.

Hi,

Sorry I have not checked this until now. I understood what you are trying to do. It depends on your codec setting. If codec sends clocks in burst mode, DSP will be fine to send/receive data.
