When using J721E/TDA4VM with TI's CPB (common processor board), all PCIe slots are functional. However, when I switch to J721S2/TDA4VL SOM board and use the same CPB, only 1 PCIe slot is functional.
Due to the CPB board being shared between TDA4VLow and TDA4VMid, when using TDA4VLow's SOM module with the CPB board, only 1 PCIe slot is pinned out due to reductions in hardware peripherals when compared with TDA4VMid.
For reference, the EVM userguide (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruj69/spruj69.pdf):
Therefore, only the J8 slot can be used for PCIe, because the other J11 PCIe slot that is next to the J8 PCIe slot, and the M.2 PCIe connector on the underside of the EVM are not pinned out for TDA4VL.
