Peripheral support with SYS/BIOS

Hi,

I have never used SYS/BIOS but im very interested because my application requires very small interrupt latency. I'm planning on using an ARM9. I would like to have some clarification before starting my work.

I was wondering if the SYS/BIOS support all peripheral for all device? For example, I want to use the current peripheral on an AM18xx :

SPI, I2C, GPIO, memory controller (DDR, external memory bus to communicate with an FPGA)

So my question is, will I be able to use all those peripherals with SYS/BIOS?

Dear Jerome,

If your question is on whether you would be able to access the peripherals like SPI, I2C, GPIO, then yes you can access all the peripherals from a SYS/BIOS application.

But if your question is on SYS/BIOS drivers, then you have to refer the corresponding driver datasheet to check the driver availability and its features.

Dear Vincent,

If you are looking for drivers for those peripherals, then you can download DSP/BIOS drivers for DM6437 from http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_registered_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/psp/bios_psp/index.html.

But if you want to access those peripherals directly or write your own drivers, then SYS/BIOS or DSP/BIOS doesn't pose any restriction. You can refer the DM6437 data-sheet and directly access SPI or IC2 or any other peripheral's registers.
