OMAP1510 help

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, OMAP-L137

Hi there

I’ve got a customer who’s using OMAP1510 ( 230MHz). If he intends not to use the OMAP1510 ( 230MHz),  should he go for OMAP1510 of higher frequency (350MHz) or lower (160MHz)?

His application is for RF base station. The frequencies stated might differ a bit but I think you know what my customer meant.

Should he upgrade the frequency or lower the frequency without having any adverse effect on the external peripherals?

Thank you!

Adam

  • Hi Adam

OMAP1510 is an old device, and most of the team supporting the OMAPL1x is not familiar with this device. I have forwarded this post internally to other folks who might be more knowledgeable about this device. Hopefully someone will address this post.

  • Hi Adam,

I have worked with OMAP1510 and I am not sure I understand your question.

As far as I remember, OMAP1510 used to run only up to 168MHz. So are we indeed talking about the correct device here?

Moreover, as Mukul indicated - OMAP1510 is an old device and not recommended for new designs.

You should use OMAP-L137 or OMAP-L138 instead which will give you much better performance.

    Best regards,

    Matthias
