SK-TDA4VM: CCS CRASH ISSUE WHILE SAVING MEMORY

Few questions here:

1. Is this the first time you run example with CCS + debug probe + C7x? Did any other example run successfully? other than UDMA?

2. I believe you might have already looked into the steps given here to set up CCS for loading the app and using the debug probe..

1. I already worked in C66x core and I was able to debug and save the memory from memory browser without any issue like "CCS CRASH REPORT". As far as C7x I am building and running in CCS as the same way like C66 work. I have not run any other application other than UDMA.

2. Yes I have followed all the steps given in the user guide .

When you mentioned "XDS 110 debug probe" Is it an external emulator?

Because, SK-TDA4VM board does not have internal emulator.

I guess, for C7x, this is the first time for you. I ask this question just to understand that whether it stopped working in-between or from first, it did not work..

I am using external debug probe connected with TDA4VM board and I am facing CCS crash issue only when I try to save the memory from memory browser.

Attached is the screenshot of saving memory from memory browser:

If I save this block of data by mentioning the address , I am facing CCS crash issue.

Try running some other example other than UDMA.

Check whether the other example succeed with your same steps.

I tried running an example application given for C7x "ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_06_00_12\fftlib_02_06_01_00\ti\fftlib\src\fft_c7xmma" which will perform FFT and when I try to dump the FFT output data from the memory browser , facing the same CCS crash issue.

Is there any problem with C7x core memory configuration in CCS ?

Which version of CCS, you use??

Please do check the usage format of "Save-memory" option in CCS.

For example---> go to " help contents of CCS" and type "Save memory" .

Check the options like ----------------> Format type etc...

In addition to the CCS verson, please also provide:

-Debug Server Dump Files

-Eclipse Log

-Debug Server Log

For the last one, you will need to enable it first and then reproduce the issue.

1. The CCS version I am using is "Code Composer Studio 12.0.0" and I am using the correct save memory option in CCS.
