TDA4VH-Q1: How to Check Bist Functionality

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VH

Hi TI Experts,

My customer is running on TDA4VH SDK9.0.

According to safety manual of SDL, there is a sentence that BIST is executed by hardware for MCU automatically at boot up as part of HW POST.

Customer's safety firmware is running on mcu1_1, and it can only get the result of BIST.

However, we do not know how to verify the functionality of BIST as it is executed by HW automatically.

The reason for asking this question is that, we are afraid that if there is a situation that there is hardware error, how could we know this HW error based on the BIST functionality?

Or in other words, do we have any diagnostic methods to check the BIST functionality?

To be more clear, I know there are PBIST, LBIST and POST. This thread is just related to the POST, which is a purely hardware operation that runs only at power on.

think there should be SW needed to support verifying the BIST functionality, but I am not sure if we have this SW or not so far.

Thanks a lot!
