SK-TDA4VM: Choosing different rootfs partition

You need to change it in the bootargs. Can you please let me know the sd partitions that enumerate under /dev/mmcblk1.?

The SD card is enumerated under /dev/mmcblk0 -  the partitions are mmcblk0p1(boot) , mmcblk0p2 (rootfs) , mmcblk0p3 (rootfsnew).

Now By default, the u-boot is looking at mmcblk0p2 , I need to change it to look at mmcblk0p3.

I looked at the bootargs previously, there are soo many bootargs in different file, can you specify the file I need to chang for SK-TDA4VM.

Hi Surya,

Typically eMMC comes up as mmcblk0*  & SD card comes up as mmcblk1*.

I just wanted to make sure that you are looking at the right interface.

root=/dev/mmcblk0p2

to

root=/dev/mmcblk0p3

The above change in bootargs should help you mount the rootfs on root=/dev/mmcblk0p3.

Can you please tell me, the file where can I find bootargs, there are so many files for different board that have bootargs, if it is possible can you specify me the file where I can find bootargs for SK-TDA4VM / J721E-EVM.

This is the issue I am facing, Please help me solve this issue.

Also can you share the output of 'printenv booatrgs' from U-Boot prompt.

Can you check if the below gives the rootfs partition:

printenv args_mmc

This should print the root=/dev/mmcblk0* parameter.
