NMI pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hello,

I would like to ask about the NMI pin: I did not find in the documents related to OMAP-L138 a role description of NMI pin. I did find that the term NMI is used in the document as Non-maskable interrupt from ARM to DSP, by using the CHIPSIG registers. What is the NMI pin and how does it works ? is it the same as changing the CHIPSIG bit ? Is the NMI interrupt always from ARM to dsp ?

Regards,

Ran

  • The NMI pin only goes to the DSP in the OMAP-L138.  The OMAP-L138 Applications Processor System Reference Guide (SPRUGM7) has a description of NMI as does the TMS320C674x DSP Megamodule Reference Guide (SPRUFK5).  A consolidated resource is the OMAP-L138 C6-Integra DSP+ARM Technical Reference Manual (SPRUH77).

The NMI to the DSP can also be generated by the ARM as you mentioned via the CHIPSIG register.
