SK-TDA4VM: edge-ai-gallery custom video

Part Number: SK-TDA4VM

Hello.

I am using SK-TDA4VM.

I want to use a custom video in the Edge AI gallery that appears when the power is first turned on.

However, when I select a custom video, choose any model, and press Start, the display freezes.

It also freezes when I select existing videos.

Image and CSI work fine.

I would like to know how to resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Can you share which custom video you are using and which model you are selecting.

Can you confirm custom demo runs or display freeze occurs continue without demo run ??

  • The current sdk version is 8.6.
The video used is a combination of images taken by oneself into one video.
When using the custom function, the characteristics of the situation are as follows.
    1. The display stops when the "start" button is pressed.
    2. The mouse cursor can't move and click anything.
    3. In this state, .Running "./app_edgeai.py ./configs/object_detection.yaml"  through terminal works fine.
    4. When it is operated and forced to shut down, a display that has stopped again appears.

I haven't checked all of them, but some of the existing videos have this phenomenon.
    They are as follows.
    left-1280x720.avi
    oob-gui-video1~6.h264
    right-1280x720.avi
    and so on.

Video that works well is video_0000_h264.h264, video_0000_h264.mp4.

In the case of the model, no matter what I choose, the above results don't seem to change.

  • I prepared a new SD card and set up the latest SDK version.

    Version: 09.00.01.03 Release date: 12 Oct 2023

The built-in videos seem to be working fine, unlike version 8.6. However, when it comes to custom videos, although the screen doesn't freeze, the following issues occur:

    1. Select a custom video and press "Start."
    2. After the selection window disappears, only the "custom" section on the left lights up, and there is no further response.

The file used as a custom video is "MOT16-03.mp4," located at the following path: https://github.com/ifzhang/FairMOT/tree/master/videos

  • Hi,

Let me assign this thread to our edgeai expert.

He will get back to you on this.

  • Hi Hyojin,

Can you try to run this .mp4 file using the python apps or optiflow (see documentation for reference) instead of the gui. If that is succesfull then we can further debug what is the issue with gui.

Also is it possible to convert this .mp4 video to .h264 file, if yes i can share some commands on how to do the conversion. With .h264 videos, it will be easier to debug.

  • Hi Hyojin,

Right now the GUI app only supports videos where width >= 1280 and height >= 768. I suggest you resize your h264 video to 1280x768.

Mentioning this might have been missed in the docs. Thank you for bringing this issue. This will be fixed in next release where gui can support h264 video with any resolution.

For now, you can resize the video to 1280x768 using ffmpeg.

    Regards

  • Hello.

As you suggested, I converted the .mp4 to .h264, and both OptiFlow and the GUI are now functioning correctly.

Regarding the resolution, even with a custom video resolution of 1920x1080, it worked well after converting to .h264.

Thanks to you, I was able to resolve the issue.

Thank you. Have a great day!
