How to add PWM module driver

I want to use Pulse Width Modulation to control the back-light of the LCD.

I don't know how to write the pwm driver from scratch.

Is there a pwm driver in the kernel of "TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3-DevKit-1.0", I have not found it, but am3517evm has the pwm module.

I want to use it to control back-light,  however, I have no driver for it.

Has anyone already wrote one?

I want to refer to atmel-pwm-bl.c,  but still don't know how to write am3517 pwm driver.

Should I write am3517 pwm driver base on pwm_bl.c?

I think it should config GP timer register for PWM function (datasheet chapter 13: Timer).
