Adobe Flash player problem

Dear all,

I'm looking for Android-based embedded solution to play youtube video.

I have BeagleBoard-xM and install pre-build image of Android 2.2 (and I tried Android 2.3.4 too).

After that, I use following URL to check the flash player version.

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

It can't detect my flash player.

One more strange thing is, I use the default browser to access youtube web site, it did be able to play the video. (laggy though)

I assumed that it's  necessary to install flash player plugin to play youtube video.

Is there anybody to help me to verify if the flash player is installed or not??  Thanks!!

  • Hi Kevin,

Adobe Flash is not part of the official release. But can be downloaded from TI seperately.

Here is the link for Flash http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/adobeflash-a8.html

Follow the instruction from user guide section http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI-Android-GingerBread-2.3.4-DevKit-2.1_UserGuide#Adobe_Flash_10_Integration

    for installation and verification.

m.youtube.com does not require flash support. Only desktop version of youtube requires flash.

Kindly click the verify answer button on this post if it answer your question.

    Regards,

    Arun

  • Hi Arun,

    Thanks for your reply.

I did request the flashplayer in "http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/adobeflash-a8.html" and waiting for the approval.

BTW, where is the "veryfy answer" button??
