J721EXCPXEVM: Ethernet access from C7x DSP

Hi,

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to access the Ethernet port directly from C7x DSP. I am not sure that this is possible. the documentation is not clear.
All I need is the document where to find the information and the chapter if possible.

We do not have software support for any ethernet application running on C7x.

I am not looking for software support, I would like to know if the ethernet phy is accessible from C7x or we need to access it from another core and implement an IPC using shared memory.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response.

The CPSW and the related MDIO IP registers can be accessed from C7x. But due to errata i2329, from A72 and R5, we have implemented the MDIO access to ethernet phy with a software workaround with bit-banging.

So, it is possible to have access to Ethernet phy from C7x as well as far as the hardware capability is considered.
