Hi,

Image stabilization is not supported

JPEG Enocer is also not supported.

I think variable bit rate video compression is supported, but can you please refer to userguide for encoder?

What about MJPEG?

\with respect to the VBR, could not find anywhere in the user guide for encoder docs. Any other place where to check?

also given the SoC supports H264, which inherently as per datasheet : "The V-CORE performs actual processing of coded slice data: entropy decoding, inverse scan, inverse transform/quantization, motion compensation, and loop filtering in decoder and motion estimation, intra prediction, RDO, and entropy coding in encoder" - does not this result in image stabilisation?

Hi Chris,

Yes, VBR is supported, please refer to below link. Here, commands are specified to see available controls, which has rate control mode parameter available, where we can configure the mode

Text can be overlayed using DSS. Please refer to device specs for JPEG/MJPEG support.

The DSS looks like it's for display outputs HDMI etc rather than overlaying on the incoming video prior to compression. Is there a way of using that hardware block on the video input pipeline to add some sort of date/time stamp to the incoming video before it gets compressed.

Well, yes, DSS M2M path can be used for this purpose. You can use two input video display pipelines, overlay them in overlay manager and then can write them back in the memory using WB pipeline. Not sure if this is supported in the SDK.
