C6678 has disappeared from list of devices in CCS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

I am using CCS 5.03 with a Blakhawk XDS560v2-USB Mezzanine emulator and an EVMc6678LE board.  For some reason, when I opened up the project today, it showed an error on the ccxml file. It says there are no debuggable cpus.

I have tried to fix the ccxml, and then to generate a new one, but the C6678 is no longer in the list of devices. Previously, I had been abe to select the evm, but that dissapeared when I changed from runing on the XDS100 to the 560. I had been using the C6678 cpu from the list, but now that has gone too. I have a full licence, and CCS shows this if I look at licence status.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

  • Are you checking for TMS320C6678. That is ho i see when i select usb560-m. Are you using black hawk or spectrum digital?

    thanks,

    Arun.

  • Arun,

Sorry, I started answering this earlier, but got sidetracked.  He mentions in the thread that he's using the Mezzanine emulator (Blackhawk).

    Andy,

License shouldn't be an issue.  Even if you didn't have full license, CCS has a free license as long as you use only XDS100 or the Mezzanine external emulators.

Which emulator are you choosing?  Make sure it says "Mezzanine".

Can you check the <CCS_INSTALL_DIR>\ccsv5\ccs_base_5.0.3.00028\common\targetdb\Devices directory and be sure you have a c6678.xml file?

When you select the emulator, are you able to see the 6670 device?

Can you attach your broken .ccxml file if none of these suggestions resolve it, assuming you still have it?

    Thanks,

    Dan
