Hi AM62A Champ

If the MIPI-CSI2 port is a 4-lane 1 port and two cameras are connected in 2-lane,
What is the maximum resolution of the input image?

    How do you connect the two cameras through the single CSI interface? Are you using SerDes or other type of CSI aggregating solution?

    Yes, if possible, I would like to know if two cameras can be connected to single CSI in 2-lane mode,

    In addition, I wonder how much the maximum resolution per camera can be supported.

    If customer needs to use an aggregating solution like SerDes, I would appreciate it if you could suggest one for AM62A-Two Camera connection.

    No, this is not possible. An external aggregator is needed to connect more than one cameras.

    There are a few limiting factors as far as the maximum resolution is concerned:

    • Maximum bandwidth of the D-PHY Rx and CSI-2 Rx: 1.5Gbps per lane for 4 lanes, which is 6Gbps in total.
    • Maximum bandwidth of the ISP: 300MPixel/second. This translates to 3Gbps for 10-bit per pixel, or 3.6Gbps for 12-bit per pixel.
    • Maximum line width that the ISP can process: 4096

    Therefore, the ISP bandwidth is the main limiting factor. The pixel rate of the camera must be less than 300MPixel/second, and the width must be less than 4096. For example, a 5MP and 60fps camera transmits 300M pixels per second, which is the upper limit of the ISP, and thus can be supported on AM62Ax.
