Motion detection capability in DM816x

Hi all,

I am going to design some motion detection functions based on DM816x. I find it can be supported by the MDT in DEI and DEIH, and as I understand, MV from H.264 encoder can also be used for motion detection.

I am now unclear of its capability.Will the motion detection support 5 areas with 5 sensitivity levels up to D1 resolution? And shall I use MDT or MV from codec?

MOtion Vector from the encoder will be available at 16x16 (macroblock) level, you can decide based upon your need of motion detection granulaity.

Unlike the MV in codec, MV in DEI and DEI_H refers to "motion values" or "motion intensity". It's not motion vectors. Basically, they are obtained by taking the difference between two neighboring odd or two even fields (or you can look at it as the difference between two neighboring frames), applying coring, scaling, and threasholding, and as a result, we get 4-bit motion value per pixel.

Where can find the MV detection support in DEI and DEI_H?

Does have any example in rdk 01.08.00.15?
