From the host prospective you can read the emmc host controller register using diffrent method like : JTAG, md command in uboot , devmem2 in linux.

I bit confuse here seems you want to upgrade the emmc device firmware , regarding this you need to check with your emmc vendor.

Emmc vendor only releases the firmware for the emmc device which you are using.

We had the new firmware of the emmc now, but we don't know how to burn it to the emmc, and the emmc vendor samsung told us to contact TI.

I had used this tool to update the emmc fireware, but it seems doesn't work. And we aslo want update the firmware of MAXIM emmc. Beside using mmc command, is there any other way to update emmc firmware?

I am not aware of any other utility apart from this ideally vendor should provide a application /tool to upgrade the firmware.

May i know why you want to upgrade the firmware ?
