TDA4VM: How can we optimize the surround stitching effect?

Hi,

The camera is arranged in four directions on the front, back, left, and right of the vehicle body, and calibrated using "DCC Tools". I found that the "CHARTPOS. BIN" file was not used in "app_srv_camera", so I only used the "CALMAT.BIN" and "LENS.BIN" files.

May I ask how to understand "The offsetXleft, offsetXright, offsetYfront, and offsetYback correspond to the size of the Surround View bowl. The Surround View bowl is a 1080x1080 bowl and these numbers correspond to the distance from the center of this bowl. These can be adjusted to form a more narrow bowl if desired."?   

What is the impact of adjusting these parameters on the view? I tried to make adjustments but did not find any significant changes.

I'll need some time to analyze the current demo. As I understand, the offfsetX/Y parameters are "Bowl offset for left/right/front/back surface", but how they change the shape of the bowl will require some studying.

How can I understand "Bowl offset for left/right/front/back surface" in layman's terms? What is the offset relative to what position, and what is the unit of measurement for the offset?

We have a plan in place to run the SRV stitching on our side, but this will take some time to setup and procure the cameras and hardware, run the demo and get some analysis points. We'd like to update the documentation with some more information on the theory behind the algorithm, and this will be a work in progress.

Meanwhile, we hope that it will give some help to your issue, and that we can identify if the artifacts you are seeing are avoidable.

Not yet, we are gathering the devices for replicating this for now. I believe the required hardware will come in by this week and we can get started on evaluating the issues with the calibration and visualization.
