PROCESSOR-SDK-AM62X: AM6232 Build Options

Hi Team,

Below mentioned my queries.

We are building the SDK using below as mentioned in Building SDK. Command used:- MACHINE=am62xx-evm ARAGO_RT_ENABLE=1 bitbake tisdk-default-image

Since we have AM6254 in Evaluation Board but we are going to use AM6232 in our custom Board. Is there any process we have to build the SDK only for AM6232. Can we change the MACHINE parameter in command to build SDK for particular device? Pls Confirm

Below is my Environment:

Evaluation Board:- AM62B-P1

SDK:- PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-RT-AM62X — Processor SDK RT-Linux for AM62x Version: 09.00.00.03

Build Environment:- yocto build environment

Hi Ashutosh,

You don't need to change the MACHINE for AM6232 vs AM6254.. It would still be am62xx-evm. The device tree files need to be modified with respect to number of cores in AM6232 vs AM6254.

Thankyou for your response.

The intension was to eliminate all modules which is not applicable for AM6232. Does changing the device tree file and disabling GPU will remove all non applicable modules from code base? Pls confirm.

Thats correct Ashutosh.

The only difference between AM6254 and AM6232 is the number of cores being 4 and 2 respectively and GPU is not available on AM6232.
