Hello TI forum,
we are considering future proof-of-concept work with PI Profinet Community Stack (https://www.profibus.com/download/profinet-community-stack).
Using TMDS64EVM + INDUSTRIAL-COMMUNICATIONS-SDK-AM64X for this might be possible according to https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/content/ind_comms_sdk_am64x_09_00_00_03/docs/api_guide_am64x/PROFINET_DEVICE_FWHAL.html.
The stack would run on one of the Cortex-R5F cores.
The TI SDK doesn't seem to provide a direct port for this stack, therefore porting this stack to FWHAL appears to be the main work for this proof of concept.
According to other threads in this forum (e.g. https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1263290/am6442-profinet-evaluation-package-access) TI is short before completing the transition from Kunbus Profinet stack to Siemens Profinet stack. I believe that the community version is derived from the Siemens Profinet stack.
My question is,
if the Siemens Profinet stack port is available with the SDK, would it be possible to adapt FWHAL porting layers from the SDK to work with the PI Profinet Community Stack for evaluation purposes?
I would be grateful for further information on running PI Profinet Community Stack on Sitara devices in general.
