TMDS64EVM: I2C connection to CDCI6214

Hello,

CDCI6214 is used for REFCLK generation in TMDS64EVM.
According to the schematic, AM64 I2C is not actually connected to CDCI6214 because R659/660 are DNI.
I think CDCI6214 have to be correctly configured to generate the correct REFCLK through I2C communication.
How does it wodk in this EVM?

EVM is not a reference design and sometimes has errors that are updated during board manufacturing.

Is there a EVM with you to verify.

In the meantime, i am checking internally.

I checked the EVM I have and found that R659 and R660 were not populated.
Is it EEPROM progrramed before shipping?

The CDCI part is pre configured. We have hooked EEPROMSEL to a pull down resistor which selects Page 0 in EEPROM by default. Please refer to section 8.3.4 in device datasheet.

On TMDS64EVM, we are using Y1 output to provide 100MHz HCSL CLK for SoC and Y4 output for providing 100MHz HCSL CLK to PCIe CON J27.
