Can Ti Sitara/Intega/DaVinci support multiple displays?

Can TI Sitara/Integra/Davinci support multiple displays simultaneously?  If so, how many?

  • Yes. It  supports four displays: 3 HD and 1 SD.

TI816x HDVPSS integrates 4 compositors connected to 4 VENCs (hdmi/dvo1, hdmicomp, dvo2, sd) to support various output format and mode.

  • Refer to the HDVPSS sections of the device datasheet and TRM for details.

  • Just to summarize.

HDVPSS has 3 independent pixels clocks. So it can support 2 independent HD displays and 1 independent SD display. For third display clock has to be derived for any of the two HD displays. Further 3 independent video contents(YUV) can be rendered and 3 independent graphics content(RGB) can be rendered on any of the available displays. Out of 3 independent video contents 1 is SD and other 2 can be HD/SD. Composition is also available between graphics and video contents on all displays.
