VGA Output from 648 DSP EVM

 Hello

I am working with the Lyrtech 648 EVM Board

I have several issues regarding this application

1) I have input from CVBS type .I want to output this video via the VGA conncetor i.e for VESA application .

I need  solution for several issues regarding this application

2) Since the input is interlaced and output is progreesive I need solution for  producing de-interlaced method/format  via some DSP code

or other method .Please advice .

3) Since the input frame rate is 30 HZ NTSC and output is 60 HZ VGA , I need solution for duplicating the video data into the memory

in order to repete the frame data and just send two identical input frames to be used "as" two normal progreesive  frames for the VGA

output .Any suugestion for this issue ? Is there TI Iibrary  code for this operation ?

4) I know that the 648 grabber is working with 4:2:2 sampling of  the input and the VGA needs RGB 4:4:4 for outputing the data on the D-SUB connector VGA . Is there any library code for this conversation ??

Can I use BT656 format for outputing the data on the VGA port ? Could VGA screen PC monitor handle this format / signal type ?

5) ibraryThe NTSC is 720 horizontal pixels and VGA is 640 .Any suggestion Sample code / Filter doing it with less concuming DSP MHz ?

Thanks for recommendations

Gideon

  • Gideon,

It appears that this thread was moved to the BIOS forum from another forum, but I can't tell which, or by whom.  However, this doesn't appear to be a BIOS related question, so I will move this (back?) to the DM64x forum in hopes that it will get a faster response there.

    Sorry for the ping-ponging...
