1.  The initial set of timing diagrams (Figure 2-4 and Figure 2-5) do NOT represent a mode of operation, they are just a set of generic timing diagrams.  Correct?  There are only two modes of operation, Select Strobe and WE modes.

2.  The Async Config Registers (A1CR - A4CR) have a reset value of 0x0 for the SS mode bit field, disabling the Select Strobe mode.  Since the WE strobe mode is the default mode for only CE3 (page 2-3), do the other CEs default to a different mode or are they just inactive?  Also, how does the WE strobe mode get enabled for CE3?

3.  Reiterating what I thought I read in a previous thread, all four CEs can be used to access NOR Flash - correct?

[AK]: No, if SS mode and WE strobe mode are not used, these represent the default asynchronous operating mode. SS and WE strobe modes can be considered to be special cases.

[AK]: By default, CE0-CE2 operate in the default async operating mode. SS mode can be enabled for CE0-CE2 by software. WE strobe mode is not supported on CE0-CE2.

CE3 defaults to WE strobe mode. it does not support default async mode. You can however override WE strobe mode by enabling SS mode for CE3.

    3.  Reiterating what I thought I read in a previous thread, all four CEs can be used to access NOR Flash - correct?

    [AK]: That is correct.
