Right kernel and kernel source with configuration file?

I'm looking for kernel configurations for AM37x evm dev board.

I've downloaded ti-sdk-am37x-evm-05.02.00.00 and tried to compile the kernel but closest configuration I was able to find was am3517_evm_defconfig, which did not boot finally.

I've tried precompiled version that came with sdk did not work either.

I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or I need to find right configuration to compile to get right kernel?

I'll really appreciate any help in advance!

Here are the commands to rebuild the kernel. For AM37x use omap3_evm_defconfig.

For SDK 5.0.2 change arm-none-linux-gnueabi- to arm-arago-linux-gnueabi- to use the toolchain

that is included in the SDK.

In addition, if the precompiled version also fails to boot it's worth looking over all of the dip switches and making sure all connections are good.

Dear Michael T,

Thank you very much for your answer. It helped me well and I made a good progress.

I run into another question now after successful kernel compilationand boot from mmc. I tried to get WiFi working with my kernel and it seems like it was not enabled with omap3_evm_defconfig configuration file. I can't find wl12xx, wl12xx_sdio and mac80211 modules at all. That means compiled kernel built with omap3_evm_defconfig is different from precompiled kernel I've downloaded from ti? If so, how would I build the same kernel? User guide was very good but no help here since it does not have wireless section. Is there updated version for AM37x-PSP_05.02?
