TDA4VM: 8M camera run report Incomplete Frame ERROR

   Running the run_app_single_cam.sh program reports the following error  in  ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-09_01_00_06 sdk:

    Sorry, where is this statement in the capture node "CAPTURE: ERROR: Incomplete Frame for Ch0 !!!"? I dont see this in the SDK8.6 release. which SDK release are you using?

    Also what is the input data format that you are using?

    input data format is raw12 8M

    raw12 8M -->  SER->DES->TDA4

    Can you try setting the value of tivx_capture_inst_params_t.numPixels to value 1 and see if it helps?

    Strange, are you seeing any overflows or any CSIRX errors like CRC or ECC? Because this change should have helped in single camera application. Can we please readback the CSIRX register to confirm that above settings is setup correctly in the CSIRX. Can you please tell me which CSIRX instance you are using?

               --->  I am not seeing any overflows  or  CRC or ECC in MCU2-0  log.   Is  there any  example  log for overflows or    CRC or ECC ?

        Can we please readback the CSIRX register to confirm that above settings is setup correctly in the CSIRX

       Can you please tell me which CSIRX instance you are using ?

  • ok, that's strange. You dont seems to be seeing any issue in the display from the CSIRX perspective. The black frame is due to AE/AWB. 

    If you ignore this issue, the usecase runs fine, correct?

    Which camera are you using? Have you tuned the AE and AWB for this camera? 

    Does the RAW file look ok?

          Raw file is ok,  but ae and awb is fixed.

    These cameras are not supported in the SDK by default. You would have to tune the these cameras to get better quality output.

    ok, for the first issue, after you boot the Linux and starts running the system/usecase, can you please set below registers either using CCS or by doing telnet to this board? Lets see if these changes help.

        2.   When I use ox08b40 camera ,  after run run_app_single_cam.sh , tda4  do not  sent  AE/AWB  to camera. This issue I have find the reason,

    because  OX08B40_GetExpPrgFxn return -1.  When I set  OX08B40_GetExpPrgFxn  returen 0,  AE and AWB is ok

    ok, for the first issue, are you sure that you are configuring correct frame size in the CSIRX? Because if CSIRX receives smaller frame that what is configured, it will report it as short frame.

    It's the size with which vx_image or raw_image is created. The same size is used to configure CSIRX to expect the input image. So can you please check and confirm that this size is matching with the output size from sensor?

    I meant how do you make sure that sensor driver is outputting correct frame size? Are you seeing any CRC or ECC errors from the CSIRX?

        I think sensor driver is fine, because the sensor driver  is fine in TDA4AL

    ok can we do one more experiment? After board boots up, can you please run attached run_a.sh script and then once you start running the usecase, can you please run run_b.sh script and see if you are seeing?

    Actually i wanted to run run_b.sh when code is running. lets say can you run the application in the background and then run run_b.sh while the application is running? 

    Also i see error status as 11 (qObj->frm->status's value == 11), is it hex 11 or decimal 11?

         the log of  run  run_b.sh is  on the screenshot,and It was printed when running a single camera. I opened two terminals,one is serial port printing and the other is network connection. so the logs were separated

    ok, can you please make also below changes in the driver, rebuild the SDK and try it out? 

    1, in the API Csirx_chCfgInit in the file packages/ti/drv/csirx/csirx.h, please add "chCfgPrms->rxChParams.addrType = TISCI_MSG_VALUE_RM_UDMAP_CH_ATYPE_NON_COHERENT;" line at the end of the function.

    2, In the API UdmaChUtcPrms_init in the file packages/ti/drv/udma/src/udma_ch.c, change below statement

    utcPrms->addrType       = TISCI_MSG_VALUE_RM_UDMAP_CH_ATYPE_PHYS;

    to 

     utcPrms->addrType       = TISCI_MSG_VALUE_RM_UDMAP_CH_ATYPE_NON_COHERENT;//TISCI_MSG_VALUE_RM_UDMAP_CH_ATYPE_PHYS;

    3, i dont know if you have allocated UHC channels. Typically we allocated 2 UHC channels to mcu2_0. and since you are using single camera application, in the CsirxDrv_setChUdmaParams API, in the file packages/ti/drv/csirx/src/csirx_drvUdma.c, can you please check below statement 

    chType = UDMA_CH_TYPE_RX;

    to

    chType = UDMA_CH_TYPE_RX_UHC;

    Can you please try with these changes and also make sure to run both the scripts as before?

  • It does not matter, even if you run application in background, as long as you have run vision_apps_init script, the error should still come on the console, if there is any. 

    I see for the initial few frames, the error state was 0, what's changed after that? Are you adding some algorithm or some additional load on the system?

    Can you config that you are just using single camera application?

      -> If it is not running in the background, it will always report errors. If it is running in the background, it will not see errors

    What else is running in the system along with the single camera application? Most of the issue should have been resolved with the above patches. So i am suspecting something else is affecting capture here.
