TDA4VM-Q1: Does SK-TDA4VM EVM support warm reset?

Part Number: TDA4VM-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SK-TDA4VM, TDA4VM

Hi TI expert,

Please help to confirm below question:

1-Warm reset supprt or not in SK-TDA4VM EVM.

2--J7 EVM warm reset was trigged by RESET_REQZ. Is right or wrong...

3-If warm reset happened, will it always boot from mmcblk1/SD card? Even before system dip switch is eMMC boot mode...

Thanks.

  • Question 1:  No, SK-TDA4VM does not support warm reset of MCU or MAIN domain(s).  It is connected to the test automation connector, so it could be asserted.  But not supported with user pushbutton or anything like that on SK-TDA4Vm.

Question 2:  Yes, pin RESET_REQz is in input for warm reset request of the MAIN domain.  MCU_RESETz is the warm reset request for the MCU domain.  Note the MCU domain is the boot controller for TDA4VM device.

Question 3:  No - warm reset in the MCU domain does NOT re-sample the boot pins on warm reset condition (only cold boot).  No change in this register for warm reset.
