If since it appears that the linuxfb plugin is packaged into qtbase, can you try running MACHINE=<relevant-evm> bitbake -k qtbase?

Can you try the following steps:

1. Creating a patch for the file you modified
2. Place the patch within the sources/meta-qt5/recipes-qt/qt5/qtbase director
3. Add the patch to qtbase_git.bb with the other patches
4. Rebuild the package

I'm unsure how I can try it in my environment; I don't have your edited files.

It looks like linuxfb is packaged into the qtbase.ipk, so I would assume you just need to build the qtbase package with the edits that you've added. Following my instructions above would do this.

To test whether the plugin is installed, can you try running a QT app with the platform set to linuxfb for me?

$ ./<qt-app> -platform linuxfb
