AM6442: ICSSG0 MII doesn't work in SDK9.1.0.8

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM6422, TMDS64EVM, DP83620

With same configuration and same board, the icssg0 two MII ports don't work with SDK9.1, it can detect PHY link, but can't ping through. the same board can work with SDK8.6.

Do the patches suggested in that other thread help the customer?

I am double-checking with the developer on his current status of debugging the issue on the ti-linux-kernel.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hello Tony,

The developer is going to try to address this for SDK 9.2, but he does not have any major updates for us at this point in time.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Time flies,

customer checked on SDK9.2, the PRU MII still doesn't work.

  • Hello Tony,

Thanks for bringing this back up. Which SDK 9.2 release did they test? (9.2.0, 9.2.1.9, or 9.2.1.10)

SDK 10.0 just released today. I have not heard anything from the developer since our last communication, so I'm not sure if they did any additional work to fix this on the ti-linux-kernel branch for SDK 10.0 or not. I'll check in with them.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Heads-up, today is a holiday in India, and the developer might be on vacation for the rest of the week. Feel free to ping the thread if we haven't responded by Monday.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • #1. Customer said he tested with all 3 SDK9.2.x version, either work.

#2. I see in release notes, 9.2.1.9, or 9.2.1.10, both have LCPD-37223 resolved item, which version resolved this issue? or not actually。

#3. SDK 10.x did not mention LCPD-37223. customer will double check with 9.2.1.10 again.

  • For future readers, we're still working on getting clarity from the developer in the background on exactly what is expected to be working on which SDK releases.

  • Hello Tony,

Checking in. Is MII mode still not working for the customer?

  • Hello Nick,

I would like to ask if SDK8.6 supports the MII method for ICSSG?At present, I have not enabled the Ethernet in MII mode on 8.6.

  • As my first post, ICSSG MII mode works on SDK8.6. my customer verified it.
