TMDX654IDKEVM: Dev board often not booting on power on, Needing PoR button to be pressed

Looks like there was some assignment error causing delay in answering.

is this a new board or have you been using this board for some time without issues.

I assume you are allowing sufficient time before you power-up the board again.

We got the two boards around the start of September 2023,
1 board never has had this issue,

The other unit has been problematic since we first set it up, I don't think it initially happen as often. And it took a while to work out it could be recovered with the PoR.
In mid October I did a change to stop us power cycling that board (But not the other one).

I don't think it occurred as often to begin with, Now it appears to need a intervention everytime it is powered on.

Yes we were leaving it off before turning it on at the start of a test.
I also did check it manually to see if I left it off for varying lengths of time if it made any difference - but did not notice any change in behavior.

Could you please describe the powering sequence you are following.

Do you use the toggle switch on the board while powering the board.

Turning the AC onto the external power pack, Which is a 24Vdc supply
we are using the SDI65-24-UD-P6 which was one of example power supply in the quick start guide

I swapped the peripherals (Including external power pack) between the two boards to check and the behavior followed the TMDX654IDEVM board.

Not normally - I have used it and get the same behavior. But also when toggling the switch get the same power on lock up.

Voltage across C170,
2.897V  When powered on but not booting 
1.894V When after PoR switch and dev board booting.

This looks like SoC issue. When and where did you buy this board? I would recommend you to proceed with warranty replacement.

Okay.
We ordered it end of August 2023 direct via TI's website so looks like we are out of the warranty period.
Thanks for the help narrowing it down to a SoC issue.
