no chip defined?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO, TMS320C6455

I think i have set the build options correctly. But what this error means?"C:/CCStudio_v3.3/C6000/csl/include/csl_chiphal.h", line 267: fatal error: #error NO CHIP DEFINED (use -dCHIP_XXXX where XXXX is chip number, i.e. 6201)".ps:6455dsk is used.

if there is anyone knows anything about this question, thank you very much for answering my question.

  • It means you are using the wrong CSL. For older C6000 devices (C62xx, C671x, C641x), the generic C6000 CSL is used and you have to provide the exact part number to differentiate features for that device.

For newer C6000 devices, like the C6455, you have a separate CSL that you install and use. Follow the instructions that come with that CSL. You can find the right CSL on the Product Folder for the device by clicking on TMS320C6455 and then clicking on the Software & Tools button.

  • First of all, thank you very for your answer. But I am very sorry to tell you that I failed to find the CSL Folder. After clinking the Software & Tools button, i found no button to download the things i need. There is only a file about migration of csl 2.x to 3.x. But I found the CSL Folders used of 6457 in the same way. I donnot know if those fit  6455. Now I do need your help to let the DSPs work well. Thank your very much.

3 buttons, but no download option, below.

  • We apologize for this error on the TI.com website. A report was made on this problem yesterday and I found 5 CSL pages that are broken, meaning without a download button. I will further escalate this problem now and will post back to this thread if I hear of it being fixed.

The C6457 is similar, but I am not familiar with the detailed differences. That CSL may work for some features and may give you problems for others. We need to get the correct CSL available for you.

  • The TI.com problem has been resolved and you will now find the link for downloading the CSL files.

Please let us know if you have any additional problems.
