AM37x EVM Development Kit (MISTRAL EVM MAIN BOARD AM37x)

I have looked at many of the AM/DM37x Evaluation Module (EVM) related docs and can not find a definite answer to my question about floating point math support.

It appears that the AM/DM37x configured as an omap-4 does have a floating point processor, but does the AM/DM37x EVM Development Kit (MISTRAL EVM MAIN BOARD AM37x) support floating point math? If it can, does it have a floating point processor or software floating point?

Thank you.

  • So, the answer depends on 'what' is being put into the EVM main board.  If you look over at this other thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/sitara_arm174_microprocessors/f/416/p/107241/379045.aspx the answer is yes.

I just want to clarify, the AM37xx and DM37xx are not OMAP4 devices.  They are based on the ARM Cortex-A8 core.  Devices in these series implement the NEON hardware co-processor of the ARM Cortex-A8 and the VFPv3 hardware.
